The head chef at Auckland's hottest new restaurant has spoken to Te Waha Nui about Indian cuisine and his professional journey so far.

Lesley Chandra works at Cassia Restaurant, a modern Indian restaurant in the central city owned by celebrated chef Sid Sahrawat, that won this year's Metro Peugeot Restaurant of the Year award.

Mr Chandra came into the AUT newsroom studio and spoke to Te Waha Nui reporter Janie Cameron about Indian food, lettuce throwing, and how he got headhunted from Baduzzi for his role at Cassia. Audio: Laura Tupou
