A record number of residents attended Titirangi’s ANZAC parade — the first in three years due to COVID restrictions.

Titirangi RSA member and event MC, Stuart Tisdale, says this was the largest Anzac Day parade the community has ever seen with over 1000 residents in attendance.

It was an emotional and special event allowing for the West Auckland residents to honour the fallen soldiers who gave their lives to New Zealand.

The RSA worked alongside the NZ Warbirds to arrange a fly-by salute which was also a first for the Titirangi community.

Local resident Karen Spells feels like finally the nation can return to normal after the last challenging few years and is looking forward to the tradition continuing in the years to come.

“We have missed having the opportunity to remember our ANZAC soldiers because of Covid, so having this back is great for the community.”

“It is really exciting to see such a large proportion of the community come together to remember an extremely important part of our country’s history, it’s really encouraging for us all to engage again like this.”

The RSA is a pillar for the Titirangi community and they were delighted to host this year's Anzac Day parade.
