Auckland Live’s Cabaret Season is coming to the Civic in June, featuring a showcase of singing, dancing, drag, acting and musical performances.
Hannah Tasker-Poland, a dance and movement artist, choreographer, burlesque artist, producer and model, will perform her piece ‘The Most Naked’ on June 24.
“To me this is movement alchemy - as opposed to just dance, theatre or performance because of how potent it is,” Tasker-Poland says.
Tasker-Poland uses her voice, body and movement to create the feminist work, aiming to challenge the way women are seen in art and everyday society through provoking work that empowers and inspires women.
‘The Most Naked’ aims to break down the perception of nudity and striptease through movement, dance and live music.
Tasker-Poland will be joined on stage by musician and composer Lucien Johnson.
‘The Most Naked’ is showing three times: Thursday, June 24; Saturday, June 26; and Thursday, July 1.
